It communicates with remote agents over IP (Internet Protocol) and has over 700 functions and commands available. We include many example scripts that may be modified easily as needed.
AutomationWizard uses a form of Basic called KSIBasic that is easy to learn and use but contains a rich set of commands that allow you to control nearly every aspect of your Windows & NetWare operating systems and applications.

An AutomationWizard installation consists of 2 types of agents; the Scripting Agent (AS5) or Workstation Agent (AW5)
When installing the Windows awagent.exe either the Scripting Agent (AS5) or Workstation Agent (AW5) serial number may be used
This will determine its Agent Type
NetWare server agents require the Scripting Agent (AS5) serial number
The functions available when using the Workstation Agent (AW5) are restricted and my not cannot execute scripts independently
Functions that are not available on the Workstation Agent or NetWare Agent include FTP and RAS commands
The Management Console (AM5) may only be installed on a windows workstation that has a Scripting Agent (AS5), this is done automatically by the installation program

AutomationWizard is a multi-platform version of our NLMerlin and NLMAutoPro and scripts written for them are compatible with AutomationWizard with only a few caveats
The binary header is no longer required and should be removed, AutomationWizard scripts may now be edited with any ASCII text editor
We include a freeware application called NoteTab with has been customized to aid in scripting
NLMerlin and NLMAutoPro DOS workstation commands are replaced by more sophisticated windows controls
NLMerlin and NLMAutoPro communicated with agents using IPX but AutomationWizard uses TCP/IP protocol for more accessibility, even over the Internet

The installation of AutomationWizard is done entirely with AutomationWizard scripts
This is done to demonstrate some of the features and power of AutomationWizard as well as testing many of its functions in a real world application
A copy of the installation scripts are included in the examples directory when the Management Console is installed
During the installation we hide the DOS windows that are generated by the procedures unless you select to display the windows from the install menu
If any errors are detected during the installation you will be prompted to email them to technical support so we may improve the scripts
The AutomationWizard installation currently consists of 11 specialized scripts
